TPC (Tanganyika Planting Company) Secondary school. Life skills and Menstrual education.

The Kuleana is a nonprofit, apolitical, and a non-religious organization consisting of seven secondary school teachers, and one community member. The organization was established to address menstruation, and has trained 158 students at the TPC secondary school in Moshi. Both boys and girls have learned skills such as communication, maintaining relationships, and effective decision making. Teachers and students also talked about girls’ and boys’ body changes. The education about safe menstruation was important to both girls and boys. By being involved in this learning, boys gain understanding of what is faced by their sisters.

At the end of the training 30 girls received waridi – reusable menstrual kits. All students were happy with the training they received. Thank you the US Embassy for supporting our production of reusable pads.
